Foundation appoints 5 new board members

The UNT Foundation’s board of directors welcomed five new members at its March meeting. Sam Golden will serve on the board until the end of 2008. State Rep. Myra Crownover and Jerry Reis will serve until the end of 2009 and Bob Kimmel and Harry Joe will serve through 2010.

Myra Crownover

Myra Crownover is the state representative for District 64, which includes Denton. She has authored and co-authored a number of bills supporting education and education programs such as the Communities in Schools program.

She is a member of UNT’s President’s Council and a lifetime member of the North Texas Exes Alumni Association.


Sam Golden

Sam Golden is an ombudsman for the federal Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. He graduated from UNT in 1974 with a bachelor of business administration in finance. He played football for the North Texas football team.

He is a member of the President’s Council. His daughter, Jaclyn, graduated from UNT in 2006.


Harry Joe

Harry Joe graduated from UNT in 1970 with a bachelor of arts in geography, and later earned a law degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He currently serves as an attorney with the Jenkens and Gilchrest firm in Dallas, specializing in immigration law.

Joe is a past president of the North Texas Exes Alumni Association. His wife, Elizabeth, is a UNT alumna.


Bob Kimmel

Bob Kimmel is president and chief executive officer for David H. Elliot Company, Inc., which installs and maintains electric power lines. He graduated from UNT in 1961 with a bachelor of business administartion in accounting.

Kimmel also started his own oil and gas company, BK Energy, in Tulsa in the 1980s.

He is a lifetime member of the North Texas Exes Alumni Association, a President’s Council member at the Fellow level and a member of the North Texas Athletics Mean Green Club.


Jerry Reis

Jerry Reis graduated from UNT in 1977 with a bachelor of business administration in marketing. He is president and chief executive officer for Property Advisers Realty, which he founded. The company focuses on commercial properties in the Dallas and Fort Worth area.

He is a member of the North Texas Exes Alumni Association and the North Texas Athletics Mean Green Club.
