FACES OF THE FOUNDATION
Foundation fills board seats with 8 accomplished alumni
The University of North Texas
Foundation further diversified its
expertise recently with the addition of
eight new board members.
The new members, selected in
June, bring board membership to 25.
New members are: Charlie Bond; Frank
Bracken; Mary Denny; Sylvia Hartman;
Larry Jobe; Thomas Muir; Jerry
Pinkerton; and Harvey Zimmermann.
“Our new members strengthen
the board’s level of knowledge,
perspective and prestige,” Chairman
Harry Brownlee said.
Following is a list of new board
members:

Charlie Bond
Bond is CEO
and president of
Elliott’s Hardware
Inc., with stores in
Dallas, Grapevine
and Plano.
He earned a
bachelor of business
administration at UNT in 1959 and has
received several accolades from his
alma mater, including the Green Glory
Award. He is an adviser to the
College of Business Adminsitration
and a member of UNT’s President’s
Council. |

Frank Bracken Bracken is
president and chief
operating officer for
the Haggar Clothing
Company.
He earned a
bachelor of business
administration at
UNT in 1963. He serves on the
advisory boards for UNT’s College of
Business Administration and the
Professional Leadership Program, and
is a President’s Council member. |

Mary Denny
Denny is a
Denton County
businesswoman and
six-term member of
the Texas House of
Representatives,
where she has
served on numerous
committees including the Select
Committee on Ethics.
She earned a bachelor of science
degree in Elementary Education at
UNT in 1973 and is a member of
UNT’s President’s Council. |

Sylvia Hartman Hartman is
owner and chief
executive officer of
All About the House
Inc. and Discount
Travel.
She earned a
bachelor of business
administration from UNT in 1982. She
serves on the board of directors for the
North Texas Exes alumni association. |

Larry Jobe Jobe is a
retired CPA and cofounder
and
chairman of the
board for Legal
Network Ltd., based
in Dallas. He once
served a presidential
appointment as U.S. Assistant
Secretary of Commerce for
Administration.
He earned a bachelor of business
administration at UNT in 1961. He has
been honored with UNT’s Green
Glory Award and President’s Citation. |

Thomas Muir Muir is a CPA
and the chief financial
officer and co-owner
of Rench & Muir
Financial Associates
in Denton.
He earned a
bachelor of science in
Accounting and a master of science in
Taxation at UNT, both in 1993. He is a
former treasurer and director of the
North Texas Exes alumni association
and a former adjunct professor in the
UNT Department of Accounting. |

Jerry Pinkerton Pinkerton is a
CPA and former
controller of TXU
Corporation in
Dallas. He serves on
the board of directors
for Holly Energy
Partners.
He earned a bachelor of business
administration at UNT in 1962 and is an
inductee in the College of Business
Administration Hall of Honor. He also
serves as chair of the COBA advisory
board and is a member of UNT’s
President’s Council. |

Harvey
Zimmermann Zimmermann
is a retired audit
partner of KPMG,
LLP.
He earned two
degrees at UNT, a
bachelor of science
in Accounting in 1970 and an MBA in
1972. He serves as executive in
residence in UNT’s Department of
Accounting and is a President’s
Council member. He also was
chairman of the advisory board for the
College of Business Administration. |
